Category and menu options
Think about what you want your menus and categories to look like and play around to see what works for you. Take a minute to jot down the different ways your products could be divided up. Perhaps by product type:
- Physical
- Digital
- Service
- Theme
- Collection
- Designer
How to create your categories
- Log in to your account
- From the dashboard and click on Categories in the left navigation panel
- Click on New category and give it a name
- Click Add to save your new category
- If you want to create another category, click New category again to reset the page
If you want to create categories and sub-categories, assign your new category to a Parent category. This then creates a Parent > Child relationship where the Child category will be displayed beneath the Parent category within your online store.
For example - T-shirts might be the parent category and then the subcategories could be: Long-sleeve, Short sleeve, Sleeveless - you get the idea.
Important! Parent and Child categories are only available with a theme installed.
Customizing your categories
- You can update the URL for your category pages
- Upload an image to represent your category in your store
- Choose how you want items to be sorted within your category page
- Important! You’ll add your products to a category from the Categories page.
